Where do I find my RV's VIN?

On a motorhome, check the dash near the windshield (driver's side) or the driver's door jamb sticker — the same place as a car or truck. On a travel trailer or fifth wheel, it's usually on a metal plate near the front, on the tongue/frame, or inside a street-side storage compartment door.

Why does this only show my chassis, not my whole RV?

Most motorhomes and towables are built on a separate vehicle chassis from a base manufacturer (Ford, Freightliner, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Chevrolet, Workhorse, and similar). This tool decodes and checks recalls for that chassis VIN — the coach/body manufacturer (Winnebago, Thor, Forest River, Jayco, and similar) may issue its own separate recalls that this chassis-VIN lookup will not show.

What if the tool says it can't decode my VIN?

Double-check every character against the actual VIN plate — it's easy to mix up 0/O, 1/I, 8/B, or 5/S. Remember a VIN never contains the letters I, O, or Q. If it still won't decode, call us and we can look it up for you.

Does using this tool cost anything?
